Integrated Urban Development

Improvement of Residential Quarters

The strategic focus of this work package 3 (WP3) is to enhance the application of the integrated urban development approaches being an important basis to increase the energy performance of urban quarters. Thereby, the following fields of action are important:

  • energy efficient building refurbishment and modernisation of the energy supply structure (WP4),
  • upgrading of the residential environment and improvement of the social and economic infrastructure,
  • participation of owners and residents.

Within work package WP3, project partners combine the evaluation of realised urban development processes and the elaboration and partly implementation of integrated development concepts for urban target areas, with the exchange and transfer of knowledge. In this context, practical guidelines and models that are transferable to other urban areas will be elaborated.

The two partners assigned for the WP-coordination team of WP3 are the Ministry for Infrastructure and Spatial Planning Brandenburg and the Housing and Urban Development Agency Lithuania.
